Annual Retreat 2014 of the 'Friends of St.Paul' in Brisbane

Friends of St.Paul's  Annual Retreat

Nine members from the ‘Friends of St. Paul, Brisbane’ attended our annual retreat on 18th October, 2014 at the Convent of the St. Paul sisters in Boronia Heights. As we would celebrate Mission Sunday the next day, FOSP June
Sr Miriam chose ‘Mission of the Church’ to be the theme of our retreat. We started at 9 am and had liturgy as well as prayer for the mission. We also watched a video on St. Paul and the Mission of the Church by Fr. Robert Barron. This talk of Fr. Robert gave us an insight of how we too are part of the Mission of the Church. We had some time for our personal reflection and prayers. All of us kept strict silence and were fully engaged with our FOSP Juneprayers and readings. So at lunch we were given time to have some chats. Sr. Miriam told us that they arrived Australia from Hong Kong on the Mission Sunday 30 years ago. We were amazed to know how the sisters started their missionary work in Australia- how they started their school in Moss Vale and built the aged care residence in Brisbane. We had adoration and rosary after lunch in the chapel. At the evaluation, all members agreed that it had been a very fruitful and rewarding day. We finished our retreat with the Eucharistic Celebration concluded.
