I have loved you with an everlasting love; (Jr 31:3)

lenten journeyLenten season has marked out a great preparation for the resurrection of the Lord in 2016. The residents in SPC Aged Care Village and the SPC Sisters have had a tranquil time together for the preparation and they enjoyed Easter with overwhelming light and joy.
Lent is the time our heart should be set in silence to meditate on the love of God for mankind. Lenten season in 2016 of the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres in Boronia Heights did not exclude this significant preparation. The Gospel Sharing was held every Wednesday during Lent for the residents and those who wished to come. About 20 people including the Sisters, residents and friends. The participants had a good time to share with one another about their experience of God's grace and love in their lives according to the Gospel Reading of each Lenten Sunday whose reflections are well-prepared by the Archdiocese of Brisbane. There were tears, happiness, sorrow and joy in the stories which were shared. Nonetheless, there were also consolations and sympathy to offer to each other.
Additionally, the Easter Triduum was celebrated more solemnly and fervently with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 7:30pm to 10:00pm after the Mass of the Lord's Supper which brought to the attendantsGood Friday 2016 the spirit of watching and suffering with the Lord in His last hour. The Stations of the Cross which was acted by the Residents of SPC Aged Care and some other devoted parishioners created the prayerful atmosphere of the Lord on His way to Calvary. The silence on Good Friday with the liturgy of the Veneration of the Cross which deepened people’s understanding of uniting their sufferings with the Lord’s for the salvation of mankind.

All burst into joy with the entrance of the Easter Candle – Christ, the Light of the world, and the sound of bells ringing when the congregation sang together The Gloria . The last moment of Easter Vigil Mass had become romantic with the grace of God pouring upon SPC Residential Aged care when raindrops kept falling abundantly forming a melodious background to the joyful celebration!
