Annual Gathering 2016 of SPC Sisters in Australia

8 December 2016

The Annual Gathering of the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres was held from 8th December 2016 to 14th December 2016 in Boronia Heights, Brisbane.

2016 SPC GatheringAll Sisters from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria gathered on this occasion to renew their Paulinian spirit of belonging and consecration. During this gathering, Sr. Teresa Lau, the District Superior, shared with us some 2016 SPC Gatheringinsights of the Three Vows presented at the Renewal Program of Superiors and Formators held in Moss Vale in July. Then, we watched the very interesting and inspiring power points prepared by Sr Rosario and Sr. Teresa Francis who attended World Youth Day in Krakow,Poland. The following day, we listened to Sr. Miriam Da Luz and Sr. Marie Pauline’s presentations of their Renewal Session in Rome.

There were times for fun and recreation as well. Each day at meal times, the Sisters could chat leisurely with one another. We also went out and had a day-trip to Cooloola where we walked along the famous Rainbow Beach and collected clams hidden under the sand. Some young Sisters also played volley ball on the beach, and others simply sat quietly, contemplating the beauty of nature.
The climax of our Gathering was the Entertaining Night when each community presented an entertaining item. Here, we discovered to2016 SPC Gathering our surprise, so many of our Sisters had “hidden talents” in singing, dancing, miming, and dramatization!

2016 has come to a close and a new year 2017 begins. May God continue to bless the SPC Sisters in Australia, who are now going back to their missions, renewed with enthusiasm and love.
